Jock Zonfrillo, who died unexpectedly this week aged just 46, had been promoting a new series of MasterChef with Jamie Oliver, and shared his excitement at the release just hours before he died.
His last Instagram post, published to more than 355,000 followers, suggested Jock had been feeling positive about the latest installment of the show.
“The time has come for @masterchefau to kick off a new season filled with Secrets & Surprises! And @jamieoliver of course!” he captioned an image advertising the show.
Followers flocked to the post to express their sorrow for his death, with one, @fb1503, agonising: “The world just lost a special person.”
While, ahead of hearing the sad news, another Australia-based viewer, @creativecakeartmelbourne, wrote: “Very exciting… (my son shouts out “Joooooock” every time you appear on the advert!!!! He is even practicing his scottish accent!!!)”

Sadly, he never got around to posting a follow-up about his favourite whiskies, and within weeks of his light-hearted post, he had died.
In a statement today, his family asked that they be allowed to “grieve privately”.
They added: “With completely shattered hearts and without knowing how we can possibly move through life without him, we are devastated to share that Jock passed away…
“So many words can describe him, so many stories can be told, but at this time we’re too overwhelmed to put them into words.”
It concluded: “For those who crossed his path, became his mate, or were lucky enough to be his family, keep this proud Scot in your hearts when you have your next whisky.”
